OSX - Dual monitors and Dock position / Active Corners

Hello together!

I just hooked up a monitor to my macbook. It's standing to the left (see picture). Unfortunately my Dock and my Active corner moves to the left as well! This is driving me crazy!

I looked on the web and people have the same problem for almost 10 years now. When is apple going to fix that? To lock Dock and Active corners on the screen can't be so difficult. I am deeply disappointed...

Does some one know if they are doing something about that in Lion?
