OSX "Find" won't search in current folder

For some strange reason, when I try to search (Find) from a Finder window (pressing CMD-F) nothing shows up when I select the current folder. The other option "Search:This Mac" on the other hand works fine.
The files/folders I'm trying to find are obviously indexed as they show up in Spotlight.
What might be the cause of this?

Never mind...
I don't know why it still worked in Spotlight, but after trying everything else I ended up rebuilding the Spotlight index for that particular drive and now it appears to work as before again. Just goes to show that even the non-apparent solutions might be worth a shot
