Have a Switcher-question for everyone. I've got a friend who I've almost convinced into switching from a Dell desktop to an Apple Powerbook. Her last qualm is she has an HP LaserJet 6MP printer, currently hooked up via parallel cable to her dell, that she wants to be able to continue using if she gets the Powerbook.

I've already determined OSX has the right drivers, would a standard USB to Parallel converter cable do the trick?

Thanks for any advice.

6MP No Problem

I have been using my HP LaserJet 6MP with an iBook since 2001. I now use it with my G4 867 desktop as well. It required almost no configuration. Every now and then I check the HP website to see if there is a new driver, but it works great as is with a USB --> parallel cord.

I never knew that those devices would actually work, does it work that well with things like serial or gameport devices?
