Hello I am having some major trouble installing the latest Osx as the install constantly 'hangs' on 13 minutes remaining. Advice I have seen suggests to to just wait it out but after a full day of no progress there seems to be a bigger problem.

It's been suggested my hard drive has died (MacBook air is from 2011) but after running tests on startup nothing is flagging as wrong although when all was running I did get crashes when running multiple applications and downloading/installing so there does seem to be an issues there.

I have wiped the Mac and tried a fresh install using internet recovery and still no joy. What I have now done is install through a 32gb memory stick rather than using the hard drive and I can get the Mac running through that (just very very slow) How though can I now transfer that to the hard drive? I have tried copying the files and pasting directly to the HD and I have tried using disk utility on startup to restore the hard drive using the memory stick but then on startup I just get a grey 'stop' sign and no progress.

Please help!
