Hi all,

I've trying to reinstall a clean OS X Yosemite on a Mac Book Pro (mid 2013 model) for the past few days but had no success.

I created a bootable usb drive using createmediainstall (as on this: http://www.macworld.com/article/236...otable-os-x-10-10-yosemite-install-drive.html)

My mac book pro is not detecting this key when asked about booting options (holding alt key when starting). My girl friend's mac book pro and my old mac book air can both boot on this drive, so it really looks like a problem with my mac.

I did try to reset the pram as per Macbook Pro not detecting bootable USB with Yosemite but that didn't help.

Is there anything you can think of that could help me understand what is going wrong here ?

edit

The only notable difference I'm aware of between my mac and the two others is that my mac has a Recovery boot option.
