Hello

My 320gb hard drive that came with my 2009 macbook pro has a segment fault and will not recover. I have lost my OSX Leopard 10.5 discs that came with it. I bought the machine in England but now live Australia.

I have a copy of Snow Leopard.

I am trying to upgrade my existing version of OSX 10.5.8 with snow leopard but it keeps exiting with errors like 'The existing disk can not be overwritten '

My question is. If I erase my entire HD can I install Snow leopard from scratch using the DVD retail pack ? or Do I need to find Leopard first.

If so - can anyone help me ?
