I have a 250gb Western Digital Passport 2500BEV, which I purchased back in early 2008. I'd just like to if it is compatible with the Macbook Pro, as I'm about to order my first mac in the next hour or so.

Oh and I'm also looking to purchase another external hard drive(1tb/2tb) in the near future. Shall I keep faith with WD or opt for Seagate?

Thanx in advance

the hard drive might need to be formatted for OSX but i dont see any issue with it

my 500GB WD MyBook from around 2009 works perfectly fine

Thanx for posting.

My external hard drive is formatted in FAT32. I'm not sure if this will be compatible with the MBP?

Get Paragon NTFS X, it will allow you to write in NTFS. I kept my external HD in NTFS format for compability with other pc.
