I have a new late '13 15" MBP with Mavericks pre-installed.

I want to download a copy of the Mavericks installer so I can create a 10.9 installation USB drive.

When I go to the App Store app and click on "download" (either from the local "Purchased" listing in the App Store app or directly on the OSX Mavericks App Store page) I get the message in the thread title -- basically, I'm not allowed to download the 10.9 installer.

Any suggestions as to how/where to download the 10.9 installation package?

Thanks!

The build for your MacBook is probably a little newer than the one available in the app store, so you'll have to wait until 10.9.1 to do that I think.

You can only do it using the recovery partition, and then interrupting the process. It's convoluted, and not worthwhile since 10.9.1 will probably make it unnecessary.
