I have an iPhone 4S and a 2011 iMac running a fully updated ML.
In the messages app, I have a lot of contacts that I have been texting on my phone - however, only some of the iMessages we've sent (note, not text messages) appear.
Is there a general rule of thumb about which messages show as I can't see a pattern to why some appear and others don't?

If I look on my iPhone i see all iMessages in our conversation, but the iMac only has a subset of these messages for some reason.

I'm having this problem as well.

I'm beginning to learn its just extremely flakey.

Sometimes it will just stop receiving all messages as well, I don't know.

And yes this is iMessages, not text messages, I know texts don't work of course.

Yeah, extremely flaky. For me, iMessages often don't show up or they arrive later and out of order. Quite frustrating. I was supposed to pick my wife up once and was on the computer thinking I would get her text that way. Nope.
