OSX Planet Problem

Hello, I've had the desktop background program OSX planet (the one that shows an ever changing globe as your wallpaper) running for awhile now. But now everytime I go to configure OSX planet (preferences) I get the spinning pinwheel and it shuts down. Does anyone know what is causing this? thanks
