Hi,
I just installed OS X 10.7 on an MBP 4.1 (2.6 GHz C2D). I went to the apple store and bought the USB stick with 10.7 and installed it clean on a nw Smasung 830 SSD. I see the recovery options for internet (which I dont think I get on my model) and recovery HD partition on the internet, but Im curious if I'd need any of these given that I have the memory stick.
Ive not checked if the recovery partition is present on my HD yet, because the recovery utility that is supposed to be in the utilities folder is not there. However, the computer is downloading 1GB+ of updates, one being updates for recovery.
I'd almost prefer to not put on a recovery partition that uses space, because Ill be setting up for dual boot with W7. Not sure if there is a "pro" given that I have an apple USB stick with 10.7.
Can anyone explain the pros/cons? Do I have a recovery partition? Should I set one up?
Thanks!
