osx update spinning wheel

I have just updated the software on my computer, everything released in the past week or so, and i've got a blue screen and that black spinning wheel thing....

it's been a while now....



what do i do? just wait?

Just wait...if it's that security update from last week, it took a little while to do it's thing (like more than 60 little spins of the black wheel on my machine).

Hmm. I've had the same problem once or twice and rebooted and nothing bad seemed to happen. Certainly nothing permanent. If strange problems persist you might do an Archive & Install, or download a Combo updater from Apple's site and try that. But it'll probably be fine.

well... it's approaching an hour... should i do a hard reset and see what happens?




already saw the unsanity link... am prepared to go through those motions, but how do i know if that is what happneed?
