I think it is time for Apple to take a leaf out of MS's book and revolutionize desktop computing.

OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion has just been released in July, this year of course. It took Microsoft at least three years to come up with NOT-METRO, so it is fair to assume, if Apple implements touching the display of its Mac computers, it might be a while. Maybe next year, maybe the year after that, maybe even later, probably never, as Apple already has a touch based OS for computers, though it is not for Macs of course, but then again, I get, that people find it better to touch their displays all the time, even if it is more tiresome than using a mouse or trackpad. Touching is cool, and in the age for Friendface, touching is probably done less and less, unless one use Faceporn or whatever the site is called.

Software update, upgrade--what's the difference?
Key differences

A software update is usually downloadable free of charge; a software upgrade usually is not.
A software upgrade usually increments the first "dot" number of a product (for example Mac OS X v10.6, Mac OS X v10.5); a downloadable software update usually increments second "dot" number (for example, Mac OS X v10.6.8, Mac OS X v10.5.8).
