I am building a website for a client who runs Linux os on his computer. We have integrated a facebook link into his website to use for the photo gallery and i am having trouble installing Facebook's plugin they use to upload photos. What is the process to install plugins in firefox on a linux based comouter?

Same as any other platform, that plugin just has to be compatible with Linux.
Just like you can't install iPhoto on Windows and Zune software on a Mac.
Normally there should be alternatives, a quick search in google for what you need should suffice.
