Other countries can preorder 5s, USA CAN NOT??! WHY?

Apple store in China start to accept preorder 5s days ago and get it on launch day, Y not america?? What is Apple thinking ?:mad::mad::mad::mad:

APPLE want people to line up in america but not in other countries ??!!

They employ that technique in Hong Kong(Perhaps Mainland China also?) to stop scalpers, plus they still physically have to go to the Apple store to pick up their device.

So other than China, where are all the "other countries" who allow preorder?

Correct, Hong Kong and Mainland China have the preorder system for security reasons. There are no preorders anywhere else.

I don't know. But maybe because of this news story from July:

Tim Cook's Plan to Sell More iPhones in Apple Stores Could Be Tough Task

Apple wants more people in their stores, presumably, to also buy more stuff, like Mac's. If we order online, then we're not in the store are we?

Yeah! America is awesome, how come the other countries get something we dont. Were the best!*

* I'm not actually an American, I just thought I would share the thoughts of the OP ;)

I think this is the reason. They have the new in-store iPhone trade-in program that just started as well and my guess is that most 5S buyers will have an iPhone eligible for trade-in.

This would be fine with me if I had a freaking Apple store within a two hour drive.

Why isn't there an Apple store in my stupid city?

People need to stop freaking out. You'll get your 5S on launch day. Apple isn't stupid. They know exactly how many they need at launch in the US.
The last time it was near impossible to pick up an iPhone a few hours after launch was the iPhone 4. There were long lists. That wasn't the case with the 4S or 5. They made more than enough.

Really? Life will go on whether one does or does not obtain their 5s on Friday.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought this was the first time iPhones were being sold in China. I believe Apple has high hopes for the sales volume in China and the preorders may have something to do with that.

Or I could be wrong.

UK can't preorder either. I'm just glad not to live in one of the countries with a launch date after 20th September.

I don't even have a sale date yet (Netherlands) normally we are after the first wave of availabilty in stores, but there isn't even a date named now.

I wanna get on the S cycle this year so i don't have to make these posts again for the next 3 years :p

Coming from a 4 my difference is going to be huge, shame i have to buy them both off-contract :(
