I now have almost 3 Gigs of other files on my ipad, i only have the 16 gig ipad so this is a problem, i have seen some say download iexplorer and that will help but that cost way too much, what can be done about this?

is this a common problem? also itunes is saying i have 1 gb of photos on my ipad, but i have none on there right now and none in the photo stream

It's a problem common to those that don't know how computers work and what they need. Uncheck the photo sync box in iTunes, sync your iPad, make sure nothing is in the Camera Roll, restart it, and resync it with or without the photos being synced to it.

The "others" and your "photos" are probably left over from the Mail download cache. These files may not get deleted sometimes after the email is removed.

The best way is to restore your iPad when the "others" are growing too big.
