My mother wanted an MP3 player and didn't need a lot of space, or want to spend money on an iPod. We bought an RCA Lyra, 1GB. It said on the package that it was compatible, but they did not provide a compatible installation CD. Does anyone know any good MP3 players that work?

Thank you.

You shouldn't need an installation CD. You should be able to hookup any MP3 to a Mac and have it mount as a removeable drive. You just need to figure out what directory in the drive to put the music.

I think there are hacks available to have iTunes sync with other MP3 players, but I'm not sure.

You should at the very least be able to manually sync your MP3 player through the Finder, as described above.
