Has anybody tried putting an O2 SIM from another phone into an activated iPhone?

so, on buying an iPhone, and wanting to keep the number, you have to get o2 to do it in the store or whatever.

So what do you do if you buy an unlocked phone and wanting to keep my current number?

When you activate your iPhone in iTunes you get the option of migrating your number. If you're already with O2 it just asks for your existing number, if you're with another provider it will ask for a PAC code.

Apart from handing over your credit card you do nothing in the O2 shop.
