I just bought a new mac and am in the process of migrating my user information.
The old system is a MacBook first generation, so I was unable to go beyond snow leopard with it. The new system is obviously running Lion. When I run the migration assistant against my Time Machine backup of the old system there is an option for "Other Files and Folders on..." that's taking up 7.1 GB and not attached to a user account. There's another "Other files and folders..." under my user name that is taking up a further 10GB . What is this?
I don't want to move 7-10 GB over if I don't have to, but I also don't want to be missing data.
