Is it normal/standard to see other user processes running on your Activity Monitor on the Mac book, other than your own processes and the System processes (user:root)

examples of other users currently on my activity monitor: daemon, _coreaudiod

Sorry, its just looking at the Activity Monitor is awful intimidating, and I would like to understand it, and why there would be other user process running when I am the only user.

Also what does Thread mean?

Ah thanks for the link, that is perfect, it explains a lot.

I guess I am just confused as to why there would be users running proceses other than myself and the system, in the first place if my computer does not have any other users on it.
