"Other" ???

Do you mean a user called "Other"?
Or where do you get this "Other" from?
Take a look at DiskInventory X, OmniDiskSweeper, JDisk Report or GrandPerspective to see where your HDD space went to, if you really have the feeling, that "other" takes away that much, but deleting files you might know nothing about can damage your OS.

I am talking about when I go to storage tab under "about this mac"; You get a colored bar; it lists how much storage you have used and it has broken down by music, video, apps, and other. I am not sure what files I have that are taking up so much space under "other" and I jsut wanted to see if there was a way to list those files.
I was not going to try and delete system folders or anything like that. but if I had files that were not needed or could be stored in the cloud, then i was going to move or delete these files.

I have used omnidisksweeper and I found a file called "Mobilesync" which has a file called "backup". It is 14.5GB in size. Is this file my iPhone and iPad backups? Or what? Is it safe to delete? I don't have tons of files on my Air; I use dropbox and iWork to store my files and I don't really have that many pics and videos stored on my Air so i have no clue what the this 14.5GB could be.
