Bought a Lifeproof case Nëxt that was advertised as 'MagSafe compatible' and had the circle and bar like the Apple cases, and the little rotating plastic 'switch' that was to trigger the mute switch broke. Where I bought it claims it was discontinued, and replaced it with a 'new' Nëxt case that doesn't have the MagSafe magnets on it. It's supposedly still billed as 'compatible' though. I get that the magnets on the case are to align the MagSafe puck, but are they really needed? My first time getting the iPhone on the puck didn't go so well, so wondering if I should ditch this and get a different case.

The new Nëxt cases on their website look like this replacement. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I like MagSafe cases with the magnets it’s a better grip onto the pack versus non-MagSafe cases
