Otterbox Defender making 'Home' button "mushy" ?

I purchased the iPhone 5 on launch day & shortly thereafter, purchased an Otterbox Defender case for said iPhone.

I started to notice that after putting the case on, the 'Home' button lost that signature 'CLICK' & durable feel.

Could this be because the 'Home' button is now surrounded by a lot of rubber? I'm probably just being a little neurotic because I'm like that with new things. Lol

Is this normal?
