Otterbox Defender: Worth it if you have a Car Dock?

Currently, I have front and back Zagg Invisible Shields with an Apple Bumper. I also have an XM Skydock with a dock extender. Works great, but the bumper after only 2 months, is tearing. I'm thinking of getting an Otterbox Defender instead, but I'm concerned with my ability to put the phone in the Skydock. Has anyone tried this out? Do I need to just try it and hope I can return it if it doesn't work out?

Also, if you don't have a Skydock, but you have an Otterbox Defender, how do you like it? Does it add a lot of bulk?
