Can anyone confirm if a back and side skin on the 13 pro max will fit in the otterbox xt ?
If I use the case I want to make sure nothing ends up scratching the phone in the case .

The XT really made for 12 series. 13 will stretch the rubber in the front. Adding skin will cause more deformation of the front rubber.

I have XT for my 13 pro max. Case is just a tad too small for 13

Ok, how well has this case held up to daily use ? Is the case tight enough to prevent anything to get in the case to damage the phone ?

Because the 13 is thicker, the tightness is very good. BUT, the protection of the back glass is not the best because it is just thin hard plastic: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/otterbox-defender-xt-pro-is-trash.2295937/

To be honest, i no longer use it with my 13 PM. Small dust bunnies still made thru the camera opening…which is disappointing for a case this expensive. I actually found the Tech21 Evo Clear to seal the back better! LOL

How is this clear case holding up against dust etc ?

Been using it straight for 1.5 week. (I had been using the Apple Leather Case prior, which is also fantastic at keeping dust out.). Carry in pants. No dust bunnies in the back!!! Fantastic.

I’m considering the apple clear case, just hate that exposed bottom. I have the defender xt but haven’t used it yet fears of scratching my phone lol . So far apple silicone

Apple clear case this year is loose. Dust bunnies love to get into the apple clear case.

I would love to find something like the xt but with some internal padding , I really like how all the edges are firm etc

The only one is Otterbox Defender (original) but it does not have Magsafe.

I switch b/w the Apple leather case and Tech21. You have silicone, right? Why do you want to change? Protection? I would bet that your Apple silicone is MORE protective than Otterbox XT!!

Good point , I may just stick to the silicone for the 13 pro max and grab a leather one to change it up time to time ..it’s crazy for the first month or two with the new iPhone model I end up with a handful of cases just to end up back with apple cases lol .. Happens every year ?

Same here. Lol. Such a waste of money!!

I have to say, I’ve been using my defender XT for my 13p for a while now… I switch between it and the nomad leather case. I love the XT (besides the scratches that form on the back of the case). I didn’t have any fitment issues, the phone is snug inside and feels secure. I haven’t had any of the issues listed here. The coating they have is a gimmick though I think and adds 10$ to the case between the defender XT pro and the standard. I’ve trusted otterbox or lifeproof for every phone I’ve had. The quality is still there depending on what case you get. Plus, after 2 years of using MagSafe, I’ve got the mounts and chargers in both vehicles and beside. My cases now have to have MagSafe.

I wonder how the Lifeproof fre with magsafe is this time around .

I’m not a huge fan of otterbox defender for the iPhone. The plastic front piece scratched the sides of the phone. Instead I use a Pelican Shield Kevlar. This case is substantial, and built like a tank!

Why is the rubber warping over the buttons??

Oh it’s not warping. Those are latches (made of hard plastic, not rubber) that open up the case. If you see the latches are the same on both sides, so the case can open up. There is also a latch on the bottom of the case as well.

Ugly design. Indentation would have been much better.
