I wonder why they are not...
From Q & A
The Commuter Series cases have not been redesigned, so any colors that are available through other retailers will be compatible with both versions of the iPhone 4.

It seems harder to switch the silent dongle on with the Verizon...

Anyone here use a commuter case for their Verizon iPhone?

Don't worry about it, the part of the case that covers the buttons and vibe switch is a pretty soft silicone, so they probably thought that there's no point in changing it since the entire switch isn't covered on the verizon phone, and silicone won't damage your phone in any way

Verizon iPhone version?

The case-mate one isn't that good IMO, the bottom piece is really loose and the buttons are really hard to hit. If you want a hybrid case, get the commuter or incipio silicrylic (The 2-Piece cover at the verizon store). You can also get the Case-Mate Pop from Wal-Mart, its $25 and its a universal version for both iPhone models
