ottorbox defender confusion

So after reading the case threads on here Im confused.

Are the cases available at ATT stores locally specific for the 4S or are they trying to sell an iphone 4case for the 4S?

It seems to me that for proper sensor and camera function, one wants the 4S case.

I bought 2 iPhone 4S Defender cases on Tuesday at a local AT&T store. They also had the regular iPhone 4 Defender cases in stock. I also got the store to price match the 25% off on accessories sale that they have going on right now at the AT&T online store. Btw, I went to a New York store.
