We are a small computer repair and sales shop in cornwall.

Was looking at our suppliers website today at some new stock.
They are trade only.

I found a macbook pro MD101B/A.
This is available to us trade at £748 plus vat still running 10.7!

I can buy this as a general public at £799 inc vat at laptops direct with 10.7.
Apple sell it at £899 with 10.11.

that must have been in stock for a while to be 10.7?

It is 4 versions behind...

MD101 is an entry level macbook that is out of date tech i worked as a manager for an apple store for several years and this always sat on the shelf doing nothing as soon as the new macbook retina came out, i left the apple store 2 years ago and was there for 3 so got to be 4 years

yeah retina screen will kill pretty much anything before it.

so they going to be 2011/2012 models.

The MD101B/A is a 2012 model, still sold as new by Apple. It is the 13-inch, the last model sold with an optical drive.
An interesting MBPro now, that can boot with any OS X system from Lion, even though a new one from Apple would come with El Cap installed.

If had money, I'd be interested as it does have the optical.

I do use the optical in my windows PC and laptop.

my mac less so but still good to have it, yes I know everyone want silly thin these days so it has to go.

I do have a firewire DVD RW though so can survive lol
