Out of Practice.

So I just got a D90. Previously I had a Minolta SLR which I learned the ropes on in High School. I then got a Digital Rebel XT just about when it came out and used it extensively. The Rebel had some buttons stop working to the point where it became unusable in every mode except for the full-auto mode and I gradually stopped using it. Here's my dilemma. The D90 came two days ago and I just feel completely out of practice, like it's a foriegn object. I know it's a brand switch, but I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on a) switching from Canon to Nikon, and b) getting back into photography after a 1-2 year hiatus.
