Out of the dock...

It's strange but when i try to drag something out of the dock (an application),
normaly a small smoke icon should apear next to the application i'm dragging out, then when I let go of the mouse, the icon in supposed to disapear and a BIG smoke should apear...

But, my problem is that when i drag something out of the dock it shows a
strange arrow and THEN i see the smoke...
HELP????????
