Had my old 2016 Macbook’s Keyboard replaced under what I assumed was Apple’s program (that’s what I was told, anyway).

However, after my visit I received a work authorization/invoice for the full amount - but unlike in-warranty work, it does not deduct to $0.00. It does say “Warranty Status: Quality Program (E1).” Any advice? Should I call and cancel, or will the fee be waived?

You should ask the store before the work is completed how this will be handled.

Apple was clear that this generally should be a free repair, unless there was some other issue wrong with your laptop.

Okay! No other problem was identified to me. I’ll give them a call and confirm. I imagine if it was going to cost so much, the tech would have made sure with me...
