Out of Warranty service for iphone 3gs if opened

I realize that opening your phone voids the warranty. Will Apple still replace it if I pay the out of warranty service fee which is $150 for the 3Gs? I have water damage, and I opened the phone to see if I could possible fix it, since the phone is useless now anyway.
