I have just got a new mac so backed up my old mac with time machine and then manually transferred all my files over for a clean start.

I did all my emails in mbox format but forgot to get the outbox (sent emails) which were stored on my mac. Only problem is that when I go into time machine to get this file it is the only mbox one that says it is 4k big i.e noting there.

Anyone know where it is located in the file structure?

Actually, the Outbox is messages waiting to be sent. You actually want to find the Sent.mbx, or Sent_items.mbx. The files are stored in Userhome/Library/Mail

Thanks, you are right and after much searching I have now found the sent files. They appear to be in mbox format but the files are elmx. When I try to import them into lion mail they cannot be found (or accepted. Any clues what to do?
