I updated my series 4 watch to the latest OS the other day, and ever since, any outdoor workouts like runs and walks do no show any route tracings.

Tried restarting and even unpairing and repairing all to no avail.

Has anyone else noticed this occurring?

I have the same issue. Assuming it’s a big, but either way, I have an S6 arriving Monday.

Yup, having the same issue with the wife’s S3 ( though not on my S5 ). Have tried force restarting, unpair/repair, no joy. The same on 7 and 7.0.1. These releases are an absolute shambles....

Same issue with iPhone 11 Pro Max and watch series 4, even after 14.0.1 and 7.0.1. So I unpaired and repaired. This definitely resolved the issue. It also seems to have fixed the battery drain issue.

just unpaired / repaired again, and still hasn’t resolved it. Wondering if it’s an S3 issue...

well known ios14 issue affecting a lot of people but not everyone. There’s other threads here as well as on Apple Community discussions.

Same here. On a series 2 watch the maps stopped on the activity app on the iPhone. I’ve since upgraded to Apple Watch Series 6 and now all my activity and awards are updated but no workouts are recorded on the phone. The last one recorded on the iPhone is the day before I switched to the series 6 (and therefore WatchOS7

I had the maps and the "missing bars" in the fitness apple. The rings would be correct but the bars would be missing. Backup and restore worked for me.

I know. Just seen it. I’m fuming. Quite amazing that they acknowledge the bug but astonishing that the response is “you fix it”

Spitballing here - it may be that the issue is a corrupted database and the most universal fix is a reset/reload. Or it may be that this is a stop-gap to get people going for the time being rather than leave them hanging for a couple of weeks or whatever until a new watchOS release gets through testing.

While certainly not ideal - it is better they've addressed it in some manner than not doing so at all.

As for whether a fix will be incorporated in a future release, so that afflicted folks needn't do a reset/reload, only time will tell.
