I have a Gmail account and have been very happy with setting up on my Mac in Mail. I also have it set up on my iPhone and iPad as an Exchange account so when I read my mail on any platform or on the web, they all stay in sync. Now that Outlook is released for the Mac it sounds like many people are very impressed with the e-mail client. I do use Outlook regularly at work but I don't need access to my work e-mail at home or when I'm out and about. I only need access to my Gmail account. When I am at work I use the Gmail web interface for accessing my main e-mail account.

So for my uses, is there any real advantage to using Outlook over Mac Mail (alongside iCal and Contacts which I keep in sync through MobileMe)? I want to get Office 2011, but before getting Home and Student I want to make sure that I won't be missing out on not having Outlook.

Thanks.
