Outlook And Activesync On Xp

hey

have an iMac running windows xp... have a nokia e71 which syncs with my gmail account over exchange activesync (mail, contacts and calendar).

I want to also make my outlook on windows also sync my Gmail ActiveSync account.. i tried with the same settings but it didnt work.. I think outlook uses exchange whereas mobile device uses exchange activesync. How can i make outlook exchange use exchange activesync. Whats the difference..

Any help much appreciated
