Hi All
I am not tech savvy but I can get by, so please be patient with me. My boyfriend runs his own business from home, he has a very tidy folder set for his masses of emails, that for legal reasons he must keep.
We had a problem a while ago that remains unresolved - i.e. there are some emails in his deleted folder that do not show up in webmail, they cannot be deleted through outlook as every time I select the deleted items folder I get a message telling me to rebuild the database - when I click 'cancel' outlook crashes.
The guys that manage our server are moving severs, and have told me I have to back up the emails, as they will not be carried over (something to do with IMAP v Pop ??), however when I try to export the files for backup I get the same message telling me to rebuild the database, and there it stops.
I have googled rebuild and the message there is that there is a risk that emails can be lost in the process.
I have asked techies at work, but they can't help.
I have asked the 'server' person but all they do is send me links to google pages, which doesn't help at all.
I would be really really grateful for any assistance.
