Hello all, I have a minor problem...after updating my late 2009 MacBook to 10.6.7, I noticed Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac has stopped working the way it should. I can still receive email messages and read them, organize groups, and all that jazz. However, I can't send anything in any way, shape, or form. I cannot send a new email message, I cannot reply to email messages, or any other form of sending an email from my computer. It seems as if the buttons just stopped working on them. If anyone has had this same issue, or knows of a solution to this issue, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mitch Guzman

Hi. I have the exact same problem after updating to 10.6.7. Outlook 2011 has become inoperable. Yours is the only post I have seen so far, so I don't think there are too many people aware of this problem yet. Hope the fix comes soon.

I hope so as well. This suite of programs isn't necessarily cheap, so I'd like them all to be as functional as possible haha

Outlook 2011 / OS X 10.6.7

Exact same behavior. Haven't found a solution so far (other than reverting to 10.6.6 - a tedious task).

Very strange! I haven't had any problems with sending emails after installing 10.6.7. Maybe a reinstall is needed, as unnecessary as that seems...

No problems here either with sending or receiving emails.

Have checked the error logs to see if there is anything to lead to the cause.

Also as a test try moving the Microsoft User data folder to another location and start outlook 2011 again and setup the email account as a test to see if works again.

It is a small possiblity your database info has been corrupted in some way or a preference file or setting is wonky.

Here's the fix from Microsoft

Hey guys,

Had the same problem. Diane Ross who is an MVP on the Microsoft Office Forum provided the answer.

If the link doesn't work you effectively do these steps:

Outlook 2011 will not reply or create new emails

You need to re-install Safari.

If you used the Apple Software Updater to upgrade to 10.6.7, download the
combo updater and run it over your install.

well hopefully the same will be said for me. I'll give it a shot after I get off of work today and hopefully a safari install is all I'll need.
