Outlook web not working right under VirtualBox

I installed VirtualBox on my wife's 2011 Macbook Pro and put a full retail version of Windows 7 on it to meet her needs for work access. However, I've tested my Outlook Web Access (OWA) on it using IE 8 and it goes into "light" mode as if I were in Outlook Web Access under Firefox and Safari. What gives? I just paid $200 for Windows. Unfortunately my wife hasn't had time to check her work access but I'm very nervous with IE behaving this way that its not going to work right! Is there something I've likely overlooked? OWA doesn't prompt me to install anything, it just goes into light mode.
