Outpost Luna, a captivating strategy resource board game with local play or multiplayer options via Apple’s GameCenter, was recently released by Ariton Games on the iTunes App Store.

In just its first few days, independent reviews on iTunes have been quick to heap praise, finding Outpost Luna “super compelling” – a game that “oozes quality,” with “considerable content and options for play.” Outpost Luna currently has a 5 star rating on the App Store, and many positive contacts on the Touch Arcade forum (http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=212032).

The premise: The Earth Federation has decided it is time to colonize the distant Outpost Luna, and is offering incentives to companies to build cities there. Being the adventurous space entrepreneur that you are, you take the challenge to be the first company to build these cities.

In order to build those cities, your construction bots will first need to locate the most productive land, gather resources, use those resources to build factories, towers, and housing structures, and then build the cities according to city blueprints provided by the Federation. Each blueprint is accessible to all players, but can only be used once; so the race is on to see which company (player) will be first to meet the requirements of each blueprint.

Does another company have some land and buildings that you would like? Producing a little gold can help you challenge another player’s bot in order to take the land by force.

Outpost Luna’s variety of strategic options and unique game mechanisms make this an excellent game for repeated play. It can be played by one to four people, and is especially great as a two player game, with up to four players using Pass and Play or GameCenter. It comes with an in-depth tutorial to teach the rules.

Outpost Luna was developed for iOS by Tom Winter and Christopher Cotton, two MIT graduates with years of experience in the programming field, and with a mutual passion for designing compelling strategy games. It is being released by Ariton Games, developers of Spaceward Ho! for iOS.
