Hi,

I've hooked up my macbook to my tv (displayport -> DVI -> HDMI) and can get 5.1 audio out with VLC but can't with Front Row or Quicktime. Perian is installed but I'm only seeing two channels come out.

Is there a step that I'm missing in order to output 5.1 in Front Row?

thanks,

eric

I'm only seeing two channels come out.
How can you see the audio coming out? But seriously, how can you see that? A tool to graphically check what channels are being used? And also, how is the MacBook connected to your receiver? (At least, I take it you have it hooked up to one. Have you?) With an analog minijack>RCA cable? Or with a digital optical cable?

I'm optical out to my receiver which is only showing 2 channels when I use Front Row. Via VLC I see all 5.1 channels.
