Output from My MacBook to larger wall mount display.....

I want to output from my MacBook Pro (Macbook 13,1 running the latest IOS Catalina OS. My Macbook has the 4 USB-C ports and I have a Multi-port from OWC attached. I bought the Apple display adapter to plug an external HDMI monitor to one of the USB-C ports.

Here is the question, will the laptop allow me to close the lid while using the external monitor & keyboard.....?

Will it stay powered up?
