Is there a way to output an rgb signal from the ipads? I have a current generation Mini retina and an Ipad 3.

I need to copy a high quality video signal from my ipad(s) to a Mac. I have a Kona card inside the mac which accepts an rgb signal. I have an hdmi out from my ipad, connected to and hdmi to RGB converter, which is then connected to the Kona card. But the HDMI output signal from the ipad seems to block the computer from copying it. So I am wondering if I can get just an rgb component output from the ipad to connect to the Kona card. I think this would stop the HDMI recording lock mechanism. I need to use this for MY OWN video material, not to steal anyone else's content (such as movies).

Is it the entire screen activity from the iPad that you want to record?

Try- AirServer or Reflector. Then you can use Quicktime to record the output.

If it's a video file, then just transfer the file using iTunes or iFunbox or another similar app.

Yes, I want to copy full screen, but I want the best video quality- uncompressed. I looked at the two apps, thank you. But air server records pro res and reflector does not say the quality. I have a Kona HD capture card in my Mac and I believe it would capture better quality than reflector. ( I currently use x- mirage to capture an airplay signal, but it only saves mp4 video files.)
When I go from my iOS device by hdmi output, into an hdmi to rgb converter and then put the rgb signal into the kona card, the signal will play but I can't record it due to, what I believe is an HDMI lock which prevents an HDMI signal from being recorded. So I am looking for a way it output an rgb signal from an iPad lightning connection. This will allow me to bypass the hdmi lock. Again, I am only recording my own copyrighted content, not stealing other's works.
To summarize. Presently with x- mirage, I can record the full screen but only in mp4 video. I would like to do it via a wired rgb output into my kona card so I can record an uncompressed video of the screen. Short of this quality, which other solution will give me the best quality, Reflector or Air Server?
Thank you very very much

I cannot answer that question, I apologize.

Maybe someone who can will come along and give their input. :)
