I haven’t seen anything specifically stated one way or the other about outside use. I know the Quests can’t be exposed to sunlight but is that an issue with the vision? Really hoping to be able to work from my patio

That is the internal screen. I know, my Occulus 1 was exposed to sunlight and it burned a huge mark in them.

Just don’t take it off outside unless you know there is no direct sunlight and it will be fine.

There were a few interesting tests. The WSJ reviewer (who equivocates and generally sucks) did 2 cool tests. One, cooking with it. Second, she went skiing with it outside. Tough environment, blown out white, and well, heck, youre skiing.

Another test by the frisbee guy, he played table tennis with it. It was indoors, but the point is to show how low the latency was there, that wearing it outside, seems doable to some degree.

Of course the field of view is poop like ski goggles, so you need to be super careful doing it, but, seems it's very doable.

Of course you'll look like a giant dork doing it, but meh, F everyone and what they think.
