Unibody macbook pro:
2.53 gHz
4GB memory
320 gb HD

Settings: Better battery life option enabled, therefore using the 9400 M

I had iStat record over 100 degree tempshttp://images.macrumors.com/vb/images/smilies/eek.gif while using Handbrake last night.
Mine has always seemed hotter when running comparable applications with my friend, who has the same model/specs.

My fan speeds later increased, but the temp only decreased to 98 degrees celsius

AT TIME OF SHOT, TEMPS MEASURED IN FAHRENHEIT!
The attachment is a close-up.

THANK YOU!

Is it? I just switched over and wasn't sure or not.

Sorry about the psd. I don't go on forums too much so I'm not really accustomed to everything.

Apple was hell bent on making a quiet laptop this time around. The fans won't kick in until you hit over 90° C. Mobile binned hardware is robust enough to handle it.

Is there a program available to set minimum fan settings? I don't really care about sound.
Poor Steve Jobs...

I don't know why your computer is allowing it to be that hot with such a low fan speed, even before i got a fan speed control deal in my system preferences, my fans would be screaming at that temp, I have only gotten mine up to 200˚F and the guys at the genius bar said it was normal since its Packin' a lot in a small package.
