As I've heard that Mac AV industry uses scare tactics to gather paying customers, would it be correct to assume same goes to blogs that are supported by AV program companies, for example Intego?

Would it be then correct to assume the things they write in their blog is also just to attract customers through making situation look lot worse than it is?

I see nothing wrong with those blog posts. They are merely documenting new malware, potential attack vectors and risks. Mac malware exists and there is always something new to look out for. That does not mean that you have start panicking. In fact, it is generally good to read such security blogs frequently to stay in the loop. You don’t have to install their software.
