iPhone 15 and 16 pro max. iOS 18.

Experience iOS user. I can’t figure out why my phone always overheats on the left side and also why the keyboard lags when I type.

Any advice?

PS and yes I’ve done most things I can read up online. Something is making my keyboard keys lag when I type.

At first try force restart:
press volume up
press volume down
press and hold power button till Apple logo appear

What have you done already?
Also what is battery wear level (current Battery Health %)

It’s new. New today. But my old phone did the same. 100%. I shut everything off in the settings. 3 hours of YouTube videos.

I wonder if it can be an app.

You're right it can be some of app but it should start overheating after opening this particular app after full restart, so there is a long testing time ;/

As far as I remember for me it were at some time YouTube app, Facebook or Aliexpress as they had tendency to overheat without a reason.
Also for a quite a time (fixed with some update) for instance Bambu Handy had this issue.
Naturally it will not be visible easily on useless Battery graph.

Also there is no Mail app or Photo app reindexing in background?

I don’t believe so. The only apps I use daily are twitter, chat gpt and discord. Has to be one of those. There is nothing else on the phone and I can’t figure out a setting that would make the keyboard lag when I type.

Ok so let’s tinker around Keyboard itself :D
Have you resetted learned dictionary?

Open Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Keyboard Dictionary > Reset Dictionary

Also you could try setting up keyboard again, so add for some other language (i.e. English UK or US ), remove which to used previously, then add back old one and naturally remove temporary one.

So did you restore a backup from the old phone to the new one? Using the same apps as the old one? Same network, same accessories such as BT headphones etc?

I did a keyboard reset and changed the keyboard. It seems to be helping a little. The lag is better and the phone hasn’t overheated yet. What would cause that in your opinion?

Actually as I’m typing this message it’s still not as fast typing as I’ve experienced in the past.

Not the same app but the same everything else. Settings, networ, etc. is there a way to reset all the settings only without restoring the phone other then just reset network settings? What would you propose? Appreciate your help by the way.
