Overheating issue when using the X app

Hey guys,

My iPhone 14 Pro Max is normally rather cold / minimally warm when using the device (browsing Instagram, Reddit, etc.). However, sometimes when I open the X app and scroll a bit, it gets crazy hot in like 30 seconds and only gets even hotter with time (while I'm in the app). This already happened two times. The second time I also noticed that the app behaves really weird (flickering images etc.). So maybe this is also "just" a bug in the app? But I never came across something similar in all of my years using Apple devices. Force quitting and restarting the X app always solved this issue.

Anyone else came across something similar? Thanks a lot in advance!

Nope not had this on my 15 Pro Max. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling it? I use X a lot and had no issues with it. I don't know if the app is any different between models but it should work fine.

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it. No, I didn't try to re-install it yet because the problem only arises very rarely. It happened two times in the last weeks and I use X on a daily basis. As a possible fix for now, I always force quit the app when I'm done browsing because maaaybe it has something to do with dark mode switching (so far it only happened the first time I opened the app after my phone switched to dark mode and I had some weird issues with dark mode switching on another app as well one time that I could resolve if I force quit the app before it switched). If the issue persists, I'll try reinstalling it.

A bit late but anyway,I have an iphone 13 and the exact same thing happen to me, im on X and sometimes not always my phone become really hot and laggy but only on X i just close the app and it return to normal temp. I think it’s just X optimisation being total ****. Did you find a solution ?

Thanks for your answer! For me, it became a habit of always force quitting the app after I'm done using it 😅
