I have never had this problem before. When I woke up this morning, Notes suddenly was acting extremely laggy. I checked activity monitor, and it reports using 102.4% of CPU. I tried force quitting, and rebooting, and neither fixed. If I turn off iCloud sync it returns to normal, but of course then I have no notes....

I've not added a single note since this began happening. Help?

Edit: 13.2.1, the update to that also did not occur last night.

Same with iOS as of last night for me. Everytime I go to update a note I have to take off bold and underlined. Even if it’s apart of the note that had never had either. I use notes on all Apple devices and that has been a hassle all day. Not sure why this just came out of the blue.

The fix for me was deleting a very long note that I had had in my notes app for weeks. For whatever reason it decided to become violent after all that time. I dunno if you have a similar very long note you could delete. For me it was a ChatGPT transcript from February.
