Hey guys, I'm having a really hard time with oversized icons in selection view window. I have no idea how this happened and as an OS X noob I'd greatly appreciate your help. Here's a picture of what I see for better explanation.
Any ideas how to make them smaller? I tried pinch and stuff on touchpad, no effect. :(

Thanks for your help

One way is as follows:

On top menu bar on Desktop select "View" / "Show View Options"

In the window (titled Desktop) that opens, you can adjust icon size, spacing etc.

Hope this helps :)

Thank you for your reply, however I'm afraid this is not a solution to my problem. Icons are perfectly sized on desktop, it's just messed up in the selection window as shown on the picture. Size of icons on desktop is 40x40.

Hello again

What I should have added is that if you do what I described with any folder opened (and selected) on the desktop (in icon view), then the icons for that open (and selected) folder (e.g. 'XXXX') can be adjusted.

The window that you get from "Show View Options" will be titled 'XXXX' instead of 'Desktop'. Indeed, the window title will change accordingly if you select another view.

(You can have different icon settings for every view).

I am doing this with folder views set up as shown in your snapshot.

Apologies though if I have still misunderstood your problem.

Thanks you again for your suggestions.
PRAM reset wasn't needed at the end.

Solution to the problem was to open desktop in finder and adjust icon sizes there. It doesn't allow you to change icon sizes in web browser (as seen on the picture), which makes no sense to me but whatever.
